All you need is a JavaScript enabled web browser, and an active e-mail account.

You start by creating an account in BackBid. Click on the “Login” link in the top right corner of the home page and sign in using your username for available social sites or create a new BackBid account. Another way is to simply click on “Get Started”, post your reservation, and then you will be prompted to create an account to save the post information.

BackBid is mobile-friendly so you can post new reservations and track activity on your existing posted reservations from your web-enabled mobile phone.

Yes. BackBid has hotel partners in many markets and we are consistently adding new hotels to our network. We also provide competitor rates that cover all US cities, so feel free to post your reservations wherever they are!

BackBid can currently be used to book a hotel stay in the United States only. We are working to expand the site to include other countries around the world in the very near future. Stay tuned!

6 - Can I still use BackBid if I haven’t booked a reservation?

Yes, travelers who have not yet booked a room for their upcoming trip can also use BackBid to find the best possible deal on their upcoming hotel stay. When completing the posting process, simply select the "No" button in the "Do you have a reservation?" section.

Once you have confirmed a new hotel reservation via backbid.com, it is your responsibility to cancel your original hotel reservation. Don’t forget to take the cancellation fee (if there is one) into consideration when accepting new bids.

BackBid is a secure website and maintaining your privacy is a priority to us. At no time during the bidding process, will any hotels have access to any of your personal information – including name, email address, etc. Only when you choose to accept a bid, will your information and payment type be required and processed by the hotel that you had chosen, giving them access to your personal information.

No other channel enables hotels to sell their room inventory to consumers that have confirmed booking at a competitor. Hotels view BackBid as a unique opportunity to entice consumers away from their competitors and to unload their distressed inventory. As a result, BackBid travelers can expect aggressive and individualized offers and deals from competing hotels.

By entering your demographic info into your BackBid profile, hotels will have visibility to your travel and hotel preferences. As a result, the bids that you receive will be more personalized and targeted to your travel style and needs.

All prices quoted and all transactions will be processed in U.S. dollars.

The BackBid service is completely free for travelers, there is no charge to have an account and there is no extra fees billed by BackBid when you accept a bid.

To reset your password, please follow the steps below:

  • Click on the “Log In” button on the top right corner of the home page at www.backbid.com.
  • You will be redirected to the login form. Click on the “Forgot your password?” link just below the "LOGIN NOW" button
  • Enter the e-mail address that you used to create your account.
  • Answer the security question with the same answer you specified when you created your account or click on the "Send Email" button to receive instructions by email.
  • When you answer the security question correctly or click on the link that was sent to you in the email message, you will be able to enter your new password in the form provided and save it.

In order to be able to receive emails from BackBid we will need to verify your email address. You have received an e-mail message containing instructions on how to validate your account sent by noreply@backbid.com when you created your account.
If you have not received the e-mail within a couple of hours or have problems with the validation process please send an e-mail to support@backbid.com.

Sometimes your e-mail software may block messages from addresses that are not in your contact list. Please check the Junk and/or Spam folders to see if the message was moved there. Remember to add noreply@backbid.com to your contact list or safe list so you can receive future emails with bid details and notifications from BackBid. If you do not receive an e-mail within a couple of hours please send an e-mail to support@backbid.com to validate your account.

You can reset your password using the send email option. When you reset your password using the link provided in the email message sent to you, BackBid will know that you have access to the e-mail address you provided us when creating the account and we will validate your account automatically so you would no longer need the validation code.

BackBid allows only one account per e-mail address. You will get this message when another account has been created using this email address. If this is your e-mail address and you are sure that you have not previously signed up for an account, please contact us by sending a message support@backbid.com.

Please make sure to enter the code exactly as it is sent to you without any extra spaces. If you continue to have the same problem try validating your account by clicking on the link provided to you in the email sent from BackBid. If after this you are still not able to validate your account, please send an e-mail to support@backbid.com to validate your account.

After logging into BackBid, click on “Your Account” located on navigation bar on top of the page. You can update any part of your profile by changing the information in the fields and clicking on the “Save” button.

After logging into BackBid, click on “Your Account” located on top of the page. Then in the menu on the left of the page click on “Change Password” and you would see the form for changing your password.

After logging into BackBid, click on the “Your Account” located on the top of the page. Then on the menu on the left of the page, click on “Change Security Question” and you will see the form on which you can select your new security question and provide the answer.

Cookies need to be enabled in your Internet browser in order for you to be able to login.

All bids are automatically sent to the email address that you used to sign up with BackBid. You can also access all of your bids by logging into your account at www.BackBid.com.

To ensure that you will get hotels’ attention, make sure that you have emailed your existing hotel reservation to post@backbid.com and complete your profile information.

25 - When will I receive new bids?

After you’ve posted, partner and competitor hotels will be able to see your reservation and if they can offer a better rate and/or value, they will submit bids on your business. Some of BackBid users may find that they receive bids immediately after posting, whereas others will only receive bids days before their trip, and yet others may not receive bids at all. If you are in this third group, you can feel confident knowing that you either have a great rate or a room on sold out nights.

There are many reasons why you might not receive bids soon after posting:

  • You have a great rate, and none of the hotels feel they can beat it;
  • It is a particularly busy time at your destination and our hotels are full or close to full;
  • Your arrival date is far away, and the hotels are waiting to have a better idea of how busy they will be.
Remember, often the best deals will happen close to the arrival date when hotels are trying to fill unsold rooms at the last minute.

To make sure that you receive all the e-mail messages and notifications from BackBid please add noreply@backbid.com to your contact list or safe list in your email account.

If you prefer not to receive new bids by email, set your profile setting for bid email type to “Don’t send me any emails”. NOTE: if you choose this setting, check your notification page in your BackBid account regularly so you don’t miss any of your bids.
To access your profile, after logging into BackBid, click on “Your Account” located on the navigation bar on top of the page. The “Bid Email Type” option is located in the lower right section of your profile page.

You can view a list of all of your bids by logging into BackBid and clicking on "Bids" on the menu on top of the page.

Once in the list of bids page, you can click on the hotel name or the “Read More” link for each specific bid in order to view the details for that bid.

When you review the list of bids you can compare up to three bids for the same post. To do so you will need to click on the check box next to “Compare” in each card for the bids you wish to compare and then click on the “Compare Selected” link in the gray area on the left of each post section.

Most of the offers that hotels provide through BackBid are available for a limited number of rooms and nights. If you preview a bid after other travelers have already booked those rooms with the provided rates, the bid will appear as sold out.

Bids are valid for a limited period of time as determined by the hotel. If you try to review a bid which is no longer available then it will appear as expired.

BackBid does allow for hotels to indicate whether or not their loyalty/reward program is included in the bid. It is to the hotel’s discretion in how they position their individual reward program.

You can click on “Post Your Reservation” or “Start Here” button in the home page. You can also create a new post after you login to BackBid by clicking the “Start Here” button or accessing your posts from the menu on top of the page. After filling out the form and saving it, a new post would be created for your account.

You can post reservations from any major hotel in the USA. In order to create your post successfully and receive bids please make sure to enter the correct Hotel Name. Sometimes hotels have similar names and this could result in selecting the wrong hotel for your post. The easiest way to select a hotel is to enter the hotel name, in full or in part, in the “Hotel Name” field and press Enter. If more than one hotels share the same name a dropdown list will appear and you can pick the correct hotel from the possible choices.

Click on “Posts” on the top of home page, and you will see the page containing a list of your posts. Click on the “Edit” link next to the post you want to edit and a form similar to one that you used to post your reservation appears. Edit the desired fields and click on “Save” button.
Please note that after editing a post, any new bids you receive will be based on the modified information.

You can view a list of all of your posts by logging into BackBid and clicking on the “Posts” menu on top of the page.

Once you have logged into BackBid, you can click on the “Reservations” menu on top of the page.

40 - How can I link my account to my TripIt account?

Follow these steps:

  1. You can either click on the “Users of TripIt” icon on the home page, or login to your BackBid account and click on “Your Account” located on the top of the page, then click on “TripIt” in the menu on the left.
  2. Click on the “Connect to TRIPIT.com” button, you will be asked for your TripIt user name and password if you are not already logged into TripIt.
  3. After logging into TripIt.com you would be asked to give BackBid the permission to access your TripIt account.
  4. After you link your BackBid account with your TripIt account, your BackBid account will be automatically refreshed periodically.

After you link your BackBid account with your TripIt account, your BackBid account will be automatically refreshed as follows:

  • The BackBid system will periodically check your TripIt account for any new trips and modifications to existing trips. This happens 3-4 times per day.
  • Everytime you login to your account on BackBid, the system will automatically import your TripIt trips and modifications at that time.
  • You can also manually force a refresh by clicking on “Your Account” in the top right corner then Click “TripIt” on the left menu then click the “Refresh” button on the bottom of the page.

42 - Where can I see my hotel reservations from TripIt?

After you have synched your BackBid account with your TripIt account, you can see your current reservations from TripIt in the "Posts". There would be one post for each valid reservation.

43 - Why do some of my TripIt reservations not appear in my BackBid posts?

It could be that:

  • Your reservation has no hotel name and location in it;
  • Your reservation has no nightly rate in it.

44 - What is the BackBid Rewards Program?

This program allows you to earn points that can be used for free hotel accommodations on BackBid.

There are multiple ways to earn Reward Points. You earn 1 point for each dollar spent on a hotel reservation through BackBid. Also, you can earn points by having friends register for BackBid and when they book hotels through BackBid.

Simply log into your BackBid account, and towards the middle of the page, click on the Facebook Share icon or ‘Invite your friends’ link. You can copy the link or invitation code and send to your friends via email. Once a friend registers with BackBid, you will begin to earn reward points for their activity.

Log into your BackBid account and go to the ‘Your Account’ tab and on left side click ‘Reward Points’. This will display all point activity, including friend referral.

You can earn 1 Point for each dollar you spend on hotel reservations on BackBid. You will receive 100 Points when a friend you invite registers for BackBid. You will also receive an extra 5 Points for each dollar your friends spend on their first reservation

Once you accumulate enough points, a ‘Get it free’ icon will appear on hotel bids. You can simply click on the ‘Get it free’ icon to process that reservation.

50 - What can I use BackBid Reward points for?

BackBid Reward points have no cash value and can only be used for hotel reservation on BackBid.com.
