Welcome all new and existing users to the BackBid blog! Since we’ve launched, we’ve received amazing feedback and questions from all of our users. In today’s post, we decided to address a frequently asked question so that BackBid travelers will know what to expect when using the site.
As you know, once you have booked a hotel at your destination, you post your existing reservation onto BackBid.com, including any additional trip details and travel preferences that you may have. After you’ve posted, partner and competitor hotels will be able to see your reservation and if they can offer a better rate and/or value, they will submit bids on your business. BackBid users may find that they receive more bids closer to the actual travel date because many hotels use the site to sell unused rooms at the last minute. As we are in beta, our hotel network is increasing exponentially and this growth will certainly yield more hotel deals for every BackBid user.
Keep in mind as well, that some consumers may not receive any bids through BackBid if their original booking cannot be bested by the competition, as BackBid delivers bids that either provide a better rate or value than the original reservation. As well, if you are traveling to a very popular destination during a very popular travel time, many hotels may already be fully booked and therefore, unable to offer bids to BackBid travelers.
So to answer your question, there is no “normal” period of time in which you should receive bids. Some customers will find that they receive bids immediately after posting, whereas others will only receive bids days before their trip, and yet others may not receive bids at all. If you are in this third group, you can feel confident knowing that you either have a great rate or a room on sold out nights. Either way, using BackBid you are always in the best no-risk position!
If you have any further questions about the bidding process, please don’t hesitate to contact us at any time at info@backbid.com. Thanks and happy bidding!
